Louis Vuitton 37Th America’s Cup Capsule
Picture this: cruising ships and rolling waves, the backdrop to a late-summer day in the picturesque Port Vell Barcelone. Established in 1851, the America’s Cup is the world's oldest international sporting trophy; a highly prestigious sailing race held between two yachts. This year, following over 40 years of sponsorship, luxury fashion house Louis Vuitton, celebrates becoming the title partner of the race, now called the Louis Vuitton 37th America’s Cup.
From August 29th to October 27th, defending champion Emirates Team New Zealand will race against the winner of the Louis Vuitton Cup, the upcoming qualifying race between the USA, Switzerland, Italy, France and the UK.
In celebration of the regatta, Louis Vuitton has created capsule collections for men and women, with nautical-inspired ready-to-wear, bags and accessories. The collections draw upon three themes: “Riding the Waves” for technical pieces, “A Day on the Deck” for sporty day wear and “Elegant Summer Evening” wear. In both collections, house emblems blend with color blocks of red, white and navy, while the America’s Cup logo the vibrant graphic ‘V’ developed by Gaston-Louis Vuitton forms a recurring motif throughout.
